Obituary of Violet Bernice Broughm
Violet Bernice Broughm (nee O’Neill), 92 of Berwick passed away on December 4, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Hampton, Annapolis County; she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Carrie (Titus) O’Neill.
Violet lived in Toronto with the late Rev. Arthur Earl Broughm and her son Brian and daughter Rosalyn for 19 years. When they returned to Berwick, she was a member of Harbourville Seniors and the Central Kings Crusaders of Berwick. She was employed with the CIBC for 37 years, first in Toronto and then transferred to Nova Scotia where she opened the CIBC in Berwick.
Violet is survived by her son Brian (Trudy); daughter Rosalyn; step-son Alan (Kirsty); grandchildren Brent, Carolyn and Christy; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Justin, Serra, Jenna, Emma, Josh and Dylan; nephew Ralph Sabean (Evelyn) and niece Lorraine (Edgar).
Besides her parents, Violet was predeceased by her siblings Olive Sabean and Frank O’Neill.
Due to the restrictions of the current situation, the visitation and funeral are by invitation only. Family Flowers Only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, NS, B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900).
