1923-2020
Viola Wilbur passed away at The Moncton Hospital on August 5,
2020 with family by her side. Born in Shediac Cape, she was the
daughter of the late James and Annie (Stothart)
Glendenning.
Viola was a true home maker with a deep love for her
family. She helped raise over 100 children as a foster
mother and through her day care. She will be remembered for her
home-made rolls, pickles, cross stitching, knitting and many other
things she did to make her home open to her family and
friends.
Viola was the last surviving member of her immediate family,
she will be remembered by her daughters: Iris Wilbur, Verna (Michael)
Trueman, son, Vernon (Vicky) Wilbur, grandchildren: Tyler (Victoria)
Wilbur, Rebecca Trueman, several nieces and a nephew and the many
lives she touched.
Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband
and love of her life Douglas Wilbur, brother Harold Glendenning and
her sister Marjorie Hansen.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Saturday August 8, 2020
from 3:00pm-4:30 pm (for seniors
over 65) and from 4:30pm-6:00 pm for the general
public. Masks are encouraged. A
service will be held Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 2:00pm with Rev.
Charles Cook officiating. Due to Covid
19, please call in advance to RSVP your
seat for the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the
donor’s choice. Online condolences may be
