Obituary
It is with broken hearts the family of Victor Hansen announce his peaceful passing which occurred at the Loch Lomond Village on Monday April 20, 2020. Born in Saint John on September 14th 1940, he was the son of the late Leo and Grace (Hetherington) Hansen. Victor worked at one time for Ocean Steel and later had a dedicated and rewarding career as a Custodian with the School Board and had almost 23 years with Glenn Falls School retiring in 2005. In earlier years Vic helped maintain and clean at the former All Saints Anglican Church, he was a member of the choir and enjoyed singing. He was also known to help Santa at Christmas and played the part very well. He was big sports fan mostly hockey and baseball and was especially fond of the Montreal Canadians. Victor was a devoted husband, father, papa and friend. He was a friend to anyone he met and would give the shirt off his back or the last bill in his wallet to whoever needed it first. Vic was like a big kid and the children would flock to him. Although he was diabetic he would empty any candy dish in reach. With his jolly personality and easy going attitude, he once said his dream job would have been to be a Walmart Greeter.
Victor is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 50 years Dorothy (Nurse) Hansen; children Victor Hansen, Tammy Campbell, Mark Hansen and Kristina Hansen; three precious grandchildren Kael, Shaylin and Brianna; sisters Heather, Gwen, Theresa, Anne Marie; brothers Jack, Sandy and Doug; many brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with his parents, Vic was predeceased by his sisters Donna and Sandra and brothers Bobbie and Ron.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A celebration of life will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Victor’s 80th Birthday, Monday September 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Due to the regulations of public health physical distancing is required and mask are strongly recommended. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vic’s memory may be made to Loch Lomond Village, Alzheimers Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
