Obituary
Veronica Lee Trudel, loving mother and amazing wife, passed away in her sleep July 25, 2020. She was 49 years old.
Veronica was born January 13, 1971 in Winnipeg MB but always considered Lethbridge to be her true hometown. Life growing up was challenging for Veronica but she wouldn’t have traded her life for the world. “Every hardship has led me to the person I am today… and I’m pretty kickass!”
Veronica gave birth to two fine sons, Paul and Jonathan, both of which she was beyond proud of. She also gave birth to her daughter, Rayne. Tragically, Rayne died only hours after her birth.
On June 30th, 2012, two years after meeting him, she married her husband, Brian Guay. She was his anchor and best friend.
That’s what was best about Veronica, no matter who it was, if you were friend or family, she loved you with everything she had. She was chaotic and bold, but also kind and compassionate.
Later in life, she had found her passion, creating horror based arts and crafts. Ceramic vampire bunnies and frankensteined Barbies were always a hit at the Calgary Horror Con. She spent a lot of time creating weird and bloody creations. Her talent was raw and strong.
But beyond the fake blood and entrails was a deep understanding and healthy relationship with death. She believed in the conservation of energy, that our energy simply changes upon our death. As our energy rejoins the earth, it disperses but it’s not gone.
And we can still see her today, in the impact she had on our lives. Cuz, if you met her… she had an impact.
Veronica was preceded in death by her father, ‘Andy’ Anderson. She is survived by her mother Charlotte and brother Bruce.
She is also survived by her two sons, Paul and Jonathan, her husband Brian as well as her best friend and ‘sister from another mister’ Val.
