Vernon McLean February 12 2020

Vernon McLean, of Mount Forest, passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of 70 years to Norma McLean. Loving father of Eldon McLean and his wife Monica and Phyllis and her husband Carmen Small. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Katrina and her husband Ryan, Kristie and her husband Alan, Adam and Lisa. Dear great-grandfather to Reid, Autumn, Morgan, Ella, Connor, Nathan, Thomas and Audrey. Vernon will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings, Herbert McLean, Robert McLean, Margaret Byron, and grandsons Jason and Ryan McLean. Born in West Luther Township, Vernon was a devoted farmer and was happiest when he was outside, working with his hands. He farmed for 50 years before moving to Mount Forest. His love for farming was surpassed only by his love for family and especially for Norma. He will be remembered most for his bright smile and friendly nature. A funeral service celebrating Vernon’s life will be held at the Mount Forest United Church, 175 Queen Street East, Mount Forest on Saturday, February 15th at 11 a.m. with visitation prior to the service from 10 – 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Monck Baptist Church or Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
