Obituary of Verlyn Eleanor Lindenfield
LINDENFIELD: Peacefully, at Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig, on Friday, April 17, 2020, Verlyn Eleanor (Gilmour) Lindenfield, of Exeter, one day after her 92nd birthday. Beloved wife for 71 years of Arnold Merton Lindenfield of Exeter. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Sue and Ron Mitchell of Florida, Ron and Glenda Lindenfield of Lucan, Rob Lindenfield of Exeter, Debra and Wayne Oke of Exeter, Rick and Natalie Lindenfield of London and Ryan Lindenfield of Exeter. Cherished grandma of 10 and great-grandma of 8. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Ab and Alice Gilmour of Ailsa Craig, Liz and Alan Scott of Lucan, Patricia Romphf of Exeter and Margaret Gilmour of Exeter. Remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Thomas “Tom” Ferrier and Amelia “Molly” Mae (Dauncey) Gilmour, siblings and in-laws Jack and Ann Gilmour, Gerald Gilmour, Joan Gilmour, Neil Romphf, Avis and Mervan Cudmore, Lula and Norm Floody, Lloyd “Jake” and Verdun Lindenfield and Alvin Lindenfield. A Private Family Interment will be held at the Exeter Cemetery. Verlyn and Arnold operated Lindenfield Hardware for many years in Exeter. The family would like to Thank the Doctors and Nursing Staff at Craigwiel Gardens Nursing Home for their exceptional care and compassion they gave our mother. They surpassed our needs during this difficult time. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
