Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vasco Cecchetto, our beloved husband, brother, father, and “nonno”. Vasco left us on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the age of 81 years after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He leaves behind Anna, his wife of 51 years, and their three children: Marcello (Alisha), Lia Tallerico (Luigi), and Manuela (George Spanos). His true pride and joys were his seven grandchildren: Matteo, Luca, Teresaliliana, Gianluca, Anthony, Alora, and Evalina. Vasco also leaves behind his best friend and brother, Egidio (Linda). He was predeceased by his parents, Amelia Basso and Innocente Cecchetto, and his older brother Elvio (Venerina).
Due to COVID restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. A celebration to commemorate Vasco’s life and all his qualities will be held at a later date.
Our family would like to thank all the staff at Extendicare Cedars Villa. In particular a heartfelt “thank you” to Susan and everyone in the Poplar unit. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered.
