Valerie Jean Campbell 19622020

Valerie Jean Campbell
1962-2020
Valerie Jean Campbell (nee Blundell)
1962 – 2020
Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital after a sudden,
unexpected illness on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Val was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland and loved to reminisce about
growing up there. She loved the smell of the ocean and a good feed of
fish and chips. Val loved New York City and seeing Broadway shows with
her daughter. She was an extraordinary woman with a laugh that could
fill a room, a heart that was warm and kind, and a devoted faith that
never waivered.
Val will be forever missed by her daughter Jenn with whom she shared
an unbreakable bond. Val is predeceased by her parents Leslie and
Violet Blundell, brother Charlie, and brother-in-law Walt. She will
also be missed by her brothers and sisters: Lloyd Blundell (Naomi),
Yvette Greeley, Sylvia Mercer (Charlie), Roland Blundell (Barb),
Elaine McSheffery (Joe), Rex Blundell (Shirley), Ross Blundell
(Dilly), Ada Sayre (Oliver), Vina Ronan (Jack), and Max George
(Elsie). Valerie will also be missed by Brian Ronan (Mallory), Kris
Ronan (Tacia), Tiffany Robb, Paula Blundell and numerous other nieces
and nephews, including great nieces and nephews whom she held dear to
her heart. Val was also so proud of Rachel, the newest addition to the
family. She will also be missed by her cherished fur-baby,
Sutton.
Val arrived in Cambridge from Bell Island in 1986. She spent most of
her career working administratively at Lutherwood/CODA, Cambridge
Memorial Hospital, and with Grand River Hospital as part of the
Cambridge ACTT. Val had a passion for community; her family, friends,
co-workers, and church family knew her as a loving, caring, vibrant
person. This passion was evident in her faith and her love of
Cambridge Community Church.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Corbett
Funeral Home (519-740-0669) and Lounsbury Funeral Home (A Division of
Corbett Funeral Home) @ (519)-658-9366. A private service will be
held, with a virtual stream available to those interested.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cambridge Community
Church (cambridgecommunity.ca/donate) or Arthritis Research
Canada (www.arthritisresearch.ca/donate) in Val’s memory.
Until we meet again.
