1947-2020
Following a brief illness, Valda Marie Grant of Kilburn, NB, passed
away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on July
27, 2020.
Valda was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on April 8, 1947. She was the
daughter of the late Wilmont and Florence (Giberson) Wortman. Valda
leaves behind her daughters, Cherie Moore (Jeff) of Summerside, PE,
Kristin Grant (Troy Betts) of Fredericton, NB; her sons, Michael Grant
(Chris) of Kilburn, NB, Scott Grant of Moncton, NB; 12 grandchildren
and several great grandchildren; her sister, Opal Stacey of Moncton,
NB; her brother, Arnold Wortman (Leitha) of Centreville, NB; and her
soul-sister of over 40 years, Geraldine DeMerchant of Kilburn,
NB.
Valda was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William Grant; her
sisters, Evelyn Michaud, Leona Murchison, and Lois Grant; her
brothers, Marven, Clarence, and Bradford Wortman.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday from
12-2 pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on
Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2 pm. Interment will follow in the Kilburn
Community Cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Kidney
Foundation, the Southern Victoria Cancer Assistance Fund, or the Make
a Difference Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
