Obituary
Travis Tenhove passed away while doing what he loved, mountain climbing in God’s creation on June 13, 2020. Travis will be remembered by his loving wife Megan and their son Jess; his parents Bernie and Teresa Tenhove; his siblings Bowen (Rebekah) Tenhove, their children Gresham and Briar Tenhove; Brittany (Jayden) Halsey, their daughter Kalla Halsey; and Taylor Tenhove. Travis is survived by his grandmothers Femmie Tenhove and Shirley Lodewyk. He will also be remembered by his parents in law Sid and Pat Brouwer; siblings in law Chris (Laura) Brouwer, their daughters Carlena and Helen Brouwer; Robyn (Kevin) Friesen, their daughters Keira, Brooklynn, Rylee, and Cara Friesen; and David (Laura) Brouwer. Travis was loved by countless extended family members. He is predeceased by his grandfathers Eb Tenhove and Dick Lodewyk.
Travis was an adventurous, outgoing man who loved his family and adored his wife and young son. Travis had an evident zest for life and thrived in finding and excelling at any new hobby. He loved sharing his excitement for these hobbies with old and new friends. He could often be found adventuring outside as a young boy, which carried into his adulthood. When not exploring his own backyard, wherever that may be, he could be found searching other corners of the earth for beauty and experiences. One of his great adventures was impacting lives at Camp Homewood on the coast of B.C. There he spent his time surfing, snorkeling, and sailing. After moving back to Central Alberta, he met the love of his life and partner in adventure, Megan. Their love was evident, beautiful, and contagious. Travis loved her fiercely and she expressed her intense love for him by partnering with him in all things hiking, climbing, sailing, travelling, or any other passion Travis acquired. His life was forever changed when his son, Jess Wilder was born in September of 2019. Travis could always be found toting him around in a baby carrier or gazing at Jess when he was not in Travis’ arms. Apart from his passion for his family, Travis had a deep love for and relationship with Jesus. He was faithful in leading his family to love the Lord. Travis was a devoted husband, a protective brother, a soft-hearted son, a proud father, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
