Teunis “Tony” Hulsman of Brooks, beloved husband of the late Jenny Hulsman, passed away with his family by his side in Brooks on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Tony was born in Breukelen, Holland to Hendrick and Evertje Hulsman on August 13th, 1932 and received his schooling in Utrecht, Holland. He enjoyed riding bicycle in the summer and skating the canals in their area in winter and farm life. Tony married Janna “Jenny” Van Voorst on February 24th, 1953 and immigrated to Lethbridge, Alberta. After a short period of time they moved to the Rolling Hills area, where they started a family. After a few years of being a farmhand they moved to the Gem, Alberta area and started up their own farm. Tony continued to be a husband, father, and provider to his family of three children. In 1981, Tony and Jenny moved to Brooks, where they had resided since. He enjoyed playing the organ, harmonica, conducting and singing in the church choir. Tony will be best remembered for his laughter and love of music. He was predeceased by his wife Jenny; son George; parents; brothers, John, Herman, Hendrik and Hein and sisters, Neeltje and Evertje. Tony is survived by his daughter Effy; son Henry and his wife Maureen; 3 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson. A Family service will be held at Smith Memorial Chapel. Pastor Garth Everett officiating. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery.
