Thompson Ann July 3 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Thompson on the evening of Friday July 3, 2020.
Ann was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on October 4th, 1957. She lived in Oregon until her family moved to Billings Montana where she attended high school and eventually the University of Montana in Missoula.
At U of M she met Rory Thompson and they were married on March 16th, 1979 in Missoula, Montana. They moved to Slave Lake, Alberta and Ann completed her practicum at the High School and graduated in the spring of 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
Ann followed her husband around the province living in Slave Lake, High Level, Lac La Biche and Rocky Mountain House before finally settling in Sherwood Park.
While in Lac La Biche, the family grew to include Greg (1984) and Leah (1987).
Ann held various jobs including the High Level Echo Newspaper, substitute teaching in High Level, and an adult teaching position at the Alberta Vocational College in Lac La Biche for a number of years. While in Rocky Mountain House Ann worked with a consultant company doing various jobs.
Upon moving to Sherwood Park, Ann started working in the insurance business until she was diagnosed with cancer.
Ann was a very proud grandmother to three grandsons, Cole (2012), Lex (2014) and Logan (2017). She loved to spend time with family and friends gathered and especially enjoyed travelling.
Ann lived with cancer for 9 years, courageously receiving regular chemotherapy treatments to fight the disease. After a long battle, the cancer spread and the treatments no longer helped.
We will miss her laugh and contagious smile.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Thompson Ann July 3 2020..
