Thomas Dupuis
1943 ~ 2020
Shediac Cape, NB – Thomas Dupuis, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Dr. George-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, on Saturday, August 8th, 2020.
Born in Shediac, NB, he was the son of the late William and the late Rosie Dupuis (born Babineau).
Thomas will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Carmella Dupuis (born Cormier); his children, Serge Dupuis (Janic Comeau) of Grande-Digue and Marc Dupuis (Leyla) of Shediac Bridge; his grandchildren, Vivianne, Carlie, Chanèl and Austin; his sisters, Juanita Tremblay of Montreal, Florence Goguen (late Omer), Claire Fougère, Claudette Dupuis, Bernice Shaw (John) and Rachel Poirier (Robert), all of Shediac; and his brother Alex Dupuis (Lucie) of Haute-Aboujagane; also by several nieces and nephews.
Tommy had great pride in his family, his work and mostly in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Anyone who knows Tom knew that he had a great sense of humor. He worked as a Master Stone Mason with over 60 years experiences in the craft making him an accomplished artist. He always served his community as the President of the Shediac Public Library for many years and his dedication to the Shediac Lions Club, Shediac Minor Hockey and the Greater Shediac Sewerage Commission.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel in Shediac Bridge, on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020, from 2 pm until time of the Celebration of his life in the Chapel at 4pm.
Due to the pandemic’s circumstances, 60 people will be able to attend the Celebration.
The family would like to thank Dre Linda LeBlanc, the nurses and staff of the Oncology centre, the extra-mural and the 4D Department at the Dr. George-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre for all the excellent care and support provided to Thomas and to his family during his most difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Maurice Leger Foundation, the George Dumont cancer institute or the Shediac Public Library.
