FITZGERALD, T. Cecil – age 70, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, formerly of Melbourne, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Villa. Born February 20, 1950 in Little River Harbour, he was a son of the late Ralph and Cedulie (Harris) Fitzgerald. Cecil worked as a lobster fisherman, a bloodworm harvester and a painter, having also worked at Alwood Products in Yarmouth. He enjoyed music, especially the guitar and singing, deer hunting, camping and apple picking in the Annapolis Valley. He is survived by brothers, James, Arcadia; Burton (Ida), Dayton; Paul (Joan), Little River Harbour; David (Vicky), Abram’s River and Bernie (Myrna), Notingham, NH; sisters, Catherine (Carroll) Saulnier, Pinkney’s Point; Lillian (Richard) Harvey, Sackville, NS and Barbara (Richard) Muise, Meteghan. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Arthur, in infancy; Willard, Joseph, Lloyd, Clarence, Delmer, Louis, Arthur and Carl. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, where visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, October 23 from St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Patrick O’Meara officiating. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Comeau’s Hill. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating may be limited at both the funeral home and church (immediate family will be given priority for seating). Please note that masks are mandatory and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Donations in memory of Cecil may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
