Memorial Donation
Mrs. Theresa Denys, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the age of 93.
She was born in Utrecht, The Netherlands and was a daughter of the late Justin and Adrianna (Jongerius) Maarschalkerweerd.
Beloved wife of the late Alec Denys (1998).
Loving mother of Dianne (Jack) Gilhuly, Alec (the late Sheila -2006) Denys, Michael (Sue) Denys, Judy (Robert) Stone, Ingrid (Michael) Hentz, Jeff (Gail) Denys, Ann (Edwin) Smith.
Loving grandmother of 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Theresa was the last surviving of her 10 siblings.
She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and The Netherlands.
Theresa was very community minded and was involved in 4H and Girl Guides as a leader, a library volunteer, distributed Meals on Wheels and shared time for Chaps and the Nursing Home. She loved her square dancing group, camping, sewing and her church.
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from Holy Family Church at 11 a.m.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we are asking reservations for visitation and the funeral mass be made by calling the funeral home (519-627-2861). Masks and social distancing are mandatory.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
As an expression of sympathy, donations the Holy Family Church or The Alzheimer Society may be left at the funeral home.
