It is with great sadness and extremely heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Terry Ralph Simmons at the age of 57 years. Terry was born at the Kootenay Lake General Hospital in the beautiful town of Nelson, British Columbia by parents Reb and Gail Simmons, where he later developed a passion for hockey, baseball and guitars. Terry was a lover of music (especially rock) and an exceptional guitarist, having been taught the basics by his mother, he learned to play by ear since the age of 10. Terry continued to do the things he loved throughout his life, but his greatest love of all were his three children. Preceded in death by his father, Ralph Edgar Simmons; Gerald Scott; step-father, and Denise Fabro; aunt. Terry is survived by his beloved mother, Gail Simmons; Valerie Coombs; aunt, Danny Proud; uncle, his daughters, Chelsey Simmons and Chantelle Meyer; son, TJ Simmons; sisters, Dawn Bird; Tammy Nygaard; and Rhea Simmons; brother, Cody Simmons; granddaughter, Neviah Pelletier; grandson, Carter Meyer; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and lastly, the mother of his children whom he still had a close friendship with, Kelly Pierson. Terry was many things to many people and carried a great deal of love in him to share, as a father, a son, a grandfather, a brother and so much more. It is not how long a man lives, but how deeply he effects others. He will be greatly missed. Forever in our hearts. A small private viewing was held on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020 at Thompson Funeral Home in Nelson, B.C. followed by cremation.
