Obituary for
Terry Logan Murphy
Murphy, Terry Logan – Age 65, Salmon River. We are saddened to announce the passing of Terry L. Murphy on July 30, 2020. Terry is survived by his wife, Debbie; sons, Shane (Sarah), Nicholas; grandchildren, Liam and Ella; twin brother, Timmy (Brenda); sister, Viola (Paul Mahar); brother, Patrick (Darlene). He was predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Helen Murphy and brothers, Curtis and Michael.
Terry was a very hard worker and held many jobs over the years. A few to mention being Hingley Well Drilling, Wire Rope Industries, MacKenzie’s Ultramar, Co-op Fuels, Parkland Fuels and Layton’s Taxi. In 1986, Terry started his own business whitewashing dairy barns under the name of Murphy’s Barn Service – a business of which he was very proud. Regrettably, he had to sell his business after he was diagnosed with cancer – a battle that he fought hard to survive for almost 24 years.
We would like to thank the wonderful Palliative Care team – Dr. Henderson, Angela and Lisa. To the VON family of RNs, LPNs and home support, we thank you and appreciate all of your service. Our warrior has gone home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Terry & Debbie on Saturday, August 8th from 1 – 3 pm. Please observe social distancing guidelines! If so desired, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
