Terry John Martin, passed away with family at his side at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on October 6, 2020 at the age of 76, after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. Survived by his wife Carol (Watson) Martin, whom he married 57 years ago and his children Barb Nicholson (Brian McKinnon), Tracey Martin (Mark Dries) and Rick Martin (Andrea). Grandfather to 7 granddaughters Katie McNaughton (Rick), Breanne Ireland (Chad), Keisha Stacey (Justin), Tori Axelson (Anders), Alicia, Melanie, Abby Martin. Great-grandfather to Wyatt, Bryson, Whitney and Sophia. Brother-in-law to Diane, Pat, Rose, Valrae, Crystal Thompson, Annetta Watson (Jack), Robert Watson (Eleanor) and David Watson (Robin). Predeceased by his parents John and Jean Martin, brothers Bruce, Don, Delbert, Roy, Jim and Bob; sisters Marilyn and Ruthanne, son-in-law Tim Nicholson, brothers and sisters-in-law Betty Martin, Clinton Watson, Jack Thompson and Catherine Watson.
Terry moved from his home town of Forest to St. Marys in 1966 to begin work at the St. Marys PUC where he stayed until his retirement as PUC manager in 2000. He was actively involved in the St. Marys community as a volunteer firefighter, coach, president and lifetime member of St. Marys Minor Hockey. Terry and Carol spent their retirement years travelling in their RV and playing shuffleboard with the St. Marys Shuffleboard Club.
At Terry’s request cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Marys Volunteer Fire Department.
