Obituary
Passed away peacefully Sunday September 06, 2020 at the age of 93 at the Richmond Retirement Residence, Belleville. Mom will be sadly missed by her children Ronald Thomas, Susan Lynn and Stephen James.
Mom is predeceased by sisters Kathleen Payne, Julia Coulter and Elizabeth Donaldson. Survived by Lillian Cowling currently residing in a retirement home in the GTA.
She is also predeceased by brothers Edward Duffy, Francis Duffy, Thomas Duffy, James Duffy and William Duffy.
Mom’s generosity, love, legacy and memories will be preserved by her children also including grandchildren Tara Preston, Erin Mullarky, Kaitlin Mullarky, Shannon Cooper, and great grandchildren Mackenzie, Emma, Liam, Rylan, Dylan and Alexander.
Like many of her generation Mom lived through difficult economic and emotional times enduring the hardships of the great depression and second world war. Our generation cannot fathom what life would be like living through this time period as our parents and grandparents have done. These life experiences molded her into a loving and devoted parent always putting the needs of her children and grandchildren ahead of her own.
Mom was passionate about knitting, crocheting, collecting artwork and shopping for various Royal Doultons during her life. All Mom’s family has benefitted from these possessions that she has passed along to us. Mom had many cats during her lifetime most of which were Siamese until her final cat Jemma. All of these cats provided Mom companionship and love.
Mom will be sadly missed by her family and friends, but her love and generosity will be with us always.
Many thanks to the compassionate staff at the Richmond Retirement Residence in Belleville, Dr Erin Falconer, staff at the Local Integrated Health Network and the Para Med nurses all of who tended to Mom’s care during her final days with us.
Cremation has taken place in accordance with Mom’s wishes.
