Telfer, Carol ‘Anne’

After a hard-fought battle, Anne passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the age of 72. Anne will be dearly missed by her children, Scott (Delminda) and Kara (James Huntley) and her beloved grandchildren: Adam, Sienna, Elena, Amelia, Sebastian and Evangeline. Anne was a dear sister to Margaret Hankala (Norman) and Doris Culbert. She will also be missed by her nieces, Karen and Maureen Hankala. She was predeceased by her parents, Aljoe and Lulu Culbert and her brother, Fred Culbert. Anne was born in London, Ontario on December 26, 1947. She was an elementary school teacher in London and helped shape so many young lives over her three decades in education. She attended Western University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Anne also adored travel and a highlight was her year spent teaching in Brisbane, Australia. After retirement, despite some health setbacks, Anne was heavily involved with the Canadian Federation of University Women and enjoyed volunteering with the organization. Anne was also an avid theatre-goer and enjoyed the arts and music. She also loved socializing and will be remembered by many friends for her warm personality, wit, humour and infectious laugh. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Anne are asked to consider The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
