Obituary of Sylvia Cole
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Cole on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Carbonear General Hospital. Sylvia was formerly from New Perlican but recently resided in Carbonear. Sylvia will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is predeceased by her parents: George and Anna Grant; sisters: Ruby Grant and Rosa Pennell.
She will be cherished and loved always by her best friend and husband of 53 years: Carl Cole, her daughter: Lisa (Keith) Thompson; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Anthony, the joys of her life. Sylvia shared a special bond and will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law and his wife: Calvin and Willa Cole; niece: Michelle Bavis and nephew: Michael Cole and their families. As well, she will be sadly missed by special friends: Emmie and Art Miller and Nellie and Clarence Sooley from Ontario who all shared many great times together. Sylvia leaves many family and friends who will always remember her as a kind and caring person.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses at both Health Sciences Centre and Carbonear General Hospital especially Dr. Howse whose kindness, compassion and guidance helped comfort us during our difficult time.
Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, a private funeral service will be held at Noel’s Funeral Home in Carbonear. Inurnment will follow at St. Augustine’s Anglican Cemetery, New Perlican.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvia’s memory may be made to the St. Augustine’s Cemetery Fund, c/o The Anglican Parish of Heart’s Content, PO Box 56, Hearts Content, NL, A0B 1Z0; or email money transfer to heartscontentparish@bellaliant.com (please reference in memory of Sylvia Cole to St. Augustine’s Cemetery Fund).
