SYLVIA MCEWAN
1928 – 2020
Passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2020 at VON-Sakura House, Woodstock, in her 93rd year. Much loved wife and best friend of the late John Duff McEwan, for 60 years. Loving mother of Marsha Hayes, Cathy Brown, John J. McEwan, Mark McEwan, and their spouses Phillip Hayes, Ron Brown, and Meg McEwan. Also survived by her grandchildren Cathie Ann and Elvis MacEachern, Brian and Karah Hayes, David Hayes and Prince, David and Adrienne Brown, Lisa and Adam Dean, Trudy and Michael Brown, and Mark Brown. Family and close friends especially Sharon and Allan Esper along with their family, have always been very important to Sylvia as was her love of her dogs. Along with her love of her family Sylvia loved to play Bridge and Cruise with her daughters, she excelled at both. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sylvia’s memory could be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Animal Shelter (SPCA) or VON-Sakura House, Woodstock, and may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with arrangements by the McEwan family. The Hayes and Brown Families would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses, Ostrander’s Funeral Home staff and most of all VON’s at Sakura House for their wonderful support during this time when the world is in crisis. A celebration of life to follow after this Pandemic is declared past. Personal condolences and favourite memories can be made at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com.
