Obituary
Sylvia Chungu (Kyungu) Muteta, age 53 years, passed away suddenly on Saturday October 31, 2020 at the South Calgary Campus. She was born in Brussels, Belgium on March 2, 1967 the 4th of 7 children, and was raised in Belgium and in the Congo. She immigrated to Canada in 1995 and made her home in Calgary where she married her ex-husband Tshani Elpanzo Kabongo, the father of her two children Moses Tshani Kabongo age 24, and Jason Muteta Kabongo, age 16. She is also survived by her parents Faustin and Lèontine Muteta (Congo) and her siblings Nicole, Ginette, Francine, Nadine, Patrick and Mireille. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, worked with Alberta Health Services from 2002 until she resigned for health reasons in 2019. She was very devoted to Mother Mary and prayed constantly. She smiled through adversity and worked hard to reassure everyone while suffering silently. She will be greatly missed.
Due to the restrictions of COVID, the funeral is limited to family and close friends.
