Sylvester’s Obituary
CORPORON, Sylvester Charles – age 89, Villa St-Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, formerly of Wedgeport, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020. Born September 3, 1930 in Wedgeport, he was a son to the late Bernard and Monique (Doucette) Corporon. Sylvester was retired, however 40 years of his working life he worked as a barber in Eastern Passage. He loved fishing and you’d often find him mackerel fishing at the wharf in Wedgeport. He enjoyed photography, doing puzzles especially crosswords and the Wedgeport New Horizons. as a big hockey fan and loved the Montreal Canadiens. Sylvester is survived by his niece and caretaker, Deborah Corporon; sister-in-law, Jean Corporon; Wedgeport and many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, Sylvester was predeceased by brothers, Harvey, George, Arneau, Ferd, Raymond and Francis; sisters, Catherine, Patronille, Jacqueline and Alice in infancy; and a niece, Carol. The family will receive visitors from 1:30 until the time of the service at 3 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2020 at Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Wedgeport. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Saint Michael’s Church.
