Obituary
It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Susan Jorgensen at home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the age of 60 years.
Sue was born and raised in small town Saskatchewan and eventually moved to Edmonton, AB, where she worked for a time in banking, and had her son Phillip. She later moved to Calgary, continuing her career in banking, and married Gary Reynolds, with whom she had another son, Troy.
In Calgary, she also later met and married her second husband, Thor Jorgensen, with whom she spent many happy years. Sue found great joy playing with and caring for Thor’s grandchildren.
Sue spent time working for the Victorian Order of Nurses as a Personal Care Attendant, where she lovingly cared for seniors so they could stay in their own homes. She was quite the character, full of spunk, even through suffering with bouts of depression and some memory loss.
Susan was predeceased by her parents Felix and Verna Mireau; her brothers, Roger, Richard, and David Mireau; and ex-husband Gary Reynolds.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Thor; by her sons and Thor’s stepsons, Phillip (Kimberley) Reynolds and Troy Reynolds; as well as Thor’s children Angela (Justin) Vickaryous, Ryan Jorgensen, and Krista (Tyler) McRae; her sister Joan (Rick) Noble of Sherwood Park, AB; and her brother Bruce Mireau. She will also be missed by Thor’s grandchildren, Stuart, Jack, Kamryn, Alexa, Amelie, Nora, and Kaia, to whom they lovingly referred as “SuSu”.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
