Obituary of Stuart McLachlan Kirkland
A resident of Blenheim, Stuart McLachlan Kirkland passed away on Sunday December 27, 2020, at the age of 67.
Stuart was the son of the late Robert Duncan and Mary Ellen (nee McLachlan) Kirkland.
Beloved husband of the late Lorette Anne Kirkland (nee Diesbourg – 2020).
Dear father to William Kirkland, Jeanne Kirkland (Jeff), Jared Kirkland (Karen), Valerie and Issac Boswell, and Jordan Kirkland (Mae).
Brother-in-law to Ted Diesbourg (late Linda), Emily Bellemore (Roland), Carol Primeau (Brad), and Mark Diesbourg (Kathy). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Stuart was born and raised on the Ridge Road where he could be found working on the family farm. He attended S.S. #6 Harwich School, and later Blenheim District Highschool. He developed a desire to work in the trades and attended St. Clair College, earning an Electrical Technician Diploma. Stuart joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 773 and remained a devoted member for 20 years.
Stuart was cherished by his 5 children. When he wasn’t working to provide for his family, he could be found in the garden, gabbing away to friends at the local coffee shop or picking away at his crossword puzzles. His work ethic was admired by many, and will be valued for generations to come.
A Private Family Committal Service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
