Obituary of Stuart Edmonstone
Peacefully, at his home, on Sunday, August 9, 2020. John “Stuart” Edmonstone, of Owen Sound, in his 93rd year. Dearly loved husband of Evelyn (nee Lemont) for 68 years. Loved father of Carol (Mike) Seaman, and Jim Edmonstone(Sandi), both of Owen Sound, Lorna Edmonstone of Burlington, Beth Edmonstone of Toronto, and Dave Edmonstone (Mary) of Owen Sound. Proud grandfather of Scott (Lori), Laurie (Jon), Andy (Colleen), Jeremy (Penny), Jesse (Jenny), Bob (Sarah) and Justin; and great grandfather of Sophia, Jacqueline, Anna, Abby, Matt, Brayden, Simon, Hannah, Isaiah, Daemyn, Emalie, Josh and Carley. Also survived by his brothers Lyle Edmonstone (June) of Waterloo, Barry Edmonstone of Creston, B.C. and brother-in-law Harold Lemont of Hanover. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Muriel (Bannister) Edmonstone, his in laws, James and Annie (McBeath) Lemont, brother-in-law Norman Lemont and his wife, Vera and sister-in-law June Lemont. Stuart was a proud employee of E.C. King Contracting for 38 years. After working on large engines, in his retirement he switched to small engines, lawnmowers and sewing machines.
A Private Funeral service will be held at BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to Gideon’s International or Global Advance Fund Alliance Church.
