Passed away suddenly, with family by his side, on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Beth Ann for 23 years. Loving dad to Jason Henderson (Kelly), Bradley McDermott (Fred), Joshua Henderson (Kristin), Darren McDermott (Teena) and Tyler McDermott. Cherished Grandpy to Bailie, Blake, Brice, Liam, Cael, Abigail and Charles. Dear son of Shelia and the late Stanley McDermott and brother of Lorie Boychuk (late Wes). He will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Steven’s family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A private family service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Friends must RSVP to attend his visitation.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
