Steve Wayne Smith 19542020

Steve Wayne Smith
1954-2020
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the
passing of Steve Wayne Smith, 66, of New Minas. He passed away
peacefully on November 6, 2020 surrounded by family. Born in Montreal,
he was a son of Margaret Smith and the late Basil Smith. Steve was a
man with a big heart who always cared for others. His infectious laugh
and humour would light up a room. He’ll be remembered for
his love of coaching softball, playing golf and being the life of the
party at family functions. He is survived by his partner, Frances
Mendonca; daughter, Lyndsey (Cedric) Thomas, Nashville; two beloved
grandchildren, CJ and Alivia; two sisters, Laura (Raymond) Purchase,
New Minas; Heather (Gary) Arsenault, Shediac; two brothers, Wayne
(Joy) Smith, Kentville; Glen (Sharon) Smith, Halifax; and many nieces
and nephews. Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of
Steve’s life at a later date. The family would like to thank
the ICU staff at Valley Regional Hospital for their excellent care and
compassion. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of
one’s choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line
condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
