Steve passed away peacefully in RUH on March 27 at 94 years of age. He was born November 1, 1925 to John and Lena (Luchak) in Humboldt. Steve was the oldest of eleven and when his father went to war was called upon to look after the family and the farm in the Bruno area.
He continued farming until his retirement at 65. He also operated heavy equipment for the RM of Colonsay which he really enjoyed. Steve loved to talk and always had a story. He was a thoughtful, kind man with a heart of gold. Steve especially loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was always so glad to see them. Steve was lucky to have enjoyed 30 years of healthy retirement. We love Gido and will miss him.
Steve leaves to mourn his loving wife, Doreen (Kramer) of 65 years, children; Barb (Greg) Thoms, Brian, Don (Shirley), five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren; Siblings; Carl, Jenny, Anne, Mike, Olga, Roman and Rose. He was predeceased by siblings, John, Beatrice, Nick and numerous in-laws.
During these times, a private graveside service will be held. Special thanks to the staff on 6th floor of RUH. Donations can be directed to the Heart and Stroke Fund.
