Sterling H. Johnson
Sterling H. Johnson, 82, of
Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday,
December 29, 2020.
Born in Lutes Mountain, he was
the son of the late Gerald and Mayme (Shaffer)
Johnson.
Sterling was a Senior
Accounting Manager with CN and Marine Atlantic. Following retirement,
he was self employed for many years in accounting and income tax. He
was a member of First Baptist Church and was on the Board of Deacons.
Sterling was involved with the Baptist Heritage Centre, New Life
Mission, CN Pensioners Association, CN Supervisors Association, Lutz
Mountain Heritage Museum, Moncton Firefighters, Habitat for Humanity,
Canadian Wildlife Federation and volunteered with the NB Heart
& Stroke Foundation and Diabetes Canada. He also enjoyed
teaching accounting to many students over the
years.
Sterling will be sadly missed by his wife, Elizabeth
(Briggs) Johnson of Riverview; son, Jeff Johnson; grandchildren,
Justin, Becca, Jordyn, Samantha and Jamie; great grandchild, Bodhi;
sister, Janet Orr; brothers, Jim Johnson (Marla) and Mike Johnson
(Linda); several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Kerton,
Carol Hayward (Michael), Sharon Carr (Michael), Susan Marks
(Kevin).
In addition to his parents, he
was predeceased by his daughter, Heather Mannette and brothers,
Lorimer, Don, Fred, Gerry, Dennis and
George.
Visitation at Fergusons
Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from
6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour
Sterling’s life will be held from First Baptist Church
Moncton (by using the Queen Street entrance) on Monday, January 4,
2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson leading the service.
COVID-19 restrictions will be followed and wearing a mask is
mandatory. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial
Gardens.
