Stephen Lawrence “Larry” Leavitt
1947-2020
The passing of Stephen Lawrence “Larry” Leavitt, husband of
Linda B. (Thorne) Leavitt, occurred unexpectedly at his residence in
Back Bay NB on March 10, 2020. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on April 21,
1947, he was a son of the late Cecil and Athenia (Hanley) Leavitt. A
loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his
wife Linda, Larry is survived by one daughter: Tammy Leavitt of Back
Bay NB; one grandson: Ewan Leavitt Hill of Back Bay NB; one brother:
Rick (Lana) Polland of Back Bay NB; several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Prior to retirement, Larry was a carpenter by trade and was a member
of Local #1386 who worked construction for various employers. He loved
swimming, boating and traveling with his wife. His favourite pastime
was being with his family, especially his grandson. His love and
devotion to his family will be sadly missed.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB.
Funeral service arrangements are not finalized at this time. Please
check back as services will be posted as soon as they are
confirmed.
In Larry’s memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer, the NB Heart
& Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated by the family.
