Obituary
Stephen Gregory Aultman
December 12 1970 – July 3 2020
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Stephen Gregory Aultman. He was born in North Bay and raised by his loving mother Lena and father Stephen, as well as his 10 older siblings, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Steve was a book of knowledge, ask him a question on any topic and he would have an answer. Steve was also a very kindhearted and generous man stopping anything he was doing in order to help whoever needed it and giving everything he had. Finally one of his most outstanding qualities was his dedication. Steve would start many projects around the house and would not stop until they were finished. At 15 he started work at Canadian tire in order to put himself through school and buy his own car. He proceeded to get a job at IBM where he taught himself everything there was to know about computers while studying Bio-Chemistry. He then spent most of his career in IT and there wasn’t a computer that he could not fix. Steve was considered a best friend and an idol to many and adored by everyone (and every animal) he met. He was a best friend to his older brother Vern, a very dedicated father to Sarah and Stephanie as well as best friend and loving husband to his wife, Susie. Stephen is predeceased by his parents Steve and Lena, his father in-law Harvey Gaynor, his sister in-law Lorrie Gaynor and brother in-law Bruce Simmons. He also leaves behind 24 nieces and nephews as well as 37 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great nephew. Steve will be greatly missed by all friends and family.
Steve’s favourite quote:
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, design a building, write a sonnet, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, solve equations, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
Robert Heinlein – “The notebooks of Lazarus Long”
In lieu of flowers, take your bike out on the trails and feel the air on your face, his favourite thing to do.
A memorial mass will be held for Stephen at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption in North Bay on Wednesday July 15th at 2pm.
In accordance with current directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario in regard to COVID 19 the total number of attendees is limited and additional precautions are in place. Face masks are mandatory at the church.
