1944-2020
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing
of Stephen Brock Cameron, age 76, of New Glasgow, on August 28, 2020,
at the Aberdeen Hospital. He was a son of the late Wendall and Muriel
(Luther) Cameron. Steve is survived by his loving
wife of 55 years, Margaret (Aikens); sons: Stephen
(Sandra), Merigomish; Dwayne (Jamie), Yarmouth; and his grandchildren:
Brock, Colton, John and Rachael. He is also survived by brothers:
Albert, Dartmouth; Colin (Marsha), Dartmouth; Malcolm, New Glasgow;
sister, Janice (Bill) Thomson, Thornhill; sisters-in-law: Rosemarie,
Dartmouth; Norma, Halifax; Janet, New Glasgow; and many nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Douglas,
Fraser and Sandy. He was a skilled electrician and a multi-talented
man who was employed at Hawker Siddeley for 42 years. Steve was a
member of the N.S. Reserve Militia for 10 years, a member of the
Trenton Fire Department for 28 years and a member of Search and Rescue
for 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and
hunting at the camp on Loon Lake. His greatest love was spending time
with his family and close friends. A special thank you to the doctors,
nurses and staff at Glen Haven Manor for their loving care during this
difficult time of COVID-19. A private funeral service will take place.
Public graveside service at 2:45 pm Tuesday in Brookside Cemetery, New
Glasgow, with Fergie MacKay officiating. Donations in his memory may
be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New
Glasgow.
