Stanley William Leonard
Age 80, Goodwood, passed away suddenly, surrounded by his loving family in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, on November 14, 2020. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late William Alexander Leonard and the late Pearl (Landry) Young. He was also predeceased by his loving wife, Ruby Agnes (Hanlon) Leonard. Dad worked for Standard Paving in his early years and also did excavation work as well. Through this he also did backyard mechanics which turned into his business that he owned and operated for many years “Leonard’s Auto Salvage”, until he retired for health reasons. Dad was known as “Stan the Man”, always there for a tow or help with a car, in this business he always had some funny stories to tell. One quote we can remember him saying is this place should be called the “Trading Post”! Dad was a man of very few words but had a heart of gold. He will be dearly missed by his children, Tony (Linda) Leonard, Big Lake; Crystal (Kevin)Clark, Whites Lake; Darren Leonard, Goodwood; four grandchildren and three great-grandsons; fur baby Rosie; brothers, Chris (Dawn) Leonard, Tom Leonard; sister, Annette Leonard; brothers, Gary Young, Rick (Laura) Young, Randy (Trish) Young; sister, Faye (Ed) Harris; brother-in-law, Mick (Nancy) Hanlon; sister-in-law, Sandra (Tom) Pomeroy. Predeceased by brothers, Tim, Billy Leonard, Barry, Kenny Young. Cremation has taken place, private family burial at a later date. Due to the current state of COVID-19, a Celebration of Life will be held hopefully at a later date. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses of 6.1 and 6.4 for the care and compassion shown to Dad in his time of need. Rest Easy Dad, it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Stanley William Leonard September 20 1940 November 14 2020..
