Spencer James Beck 1939 2020

Obituary of Spencer James Beck
BECK, Spencer James – Age 81 of Wileville, died at home on March 24, 2020. Spencer was a dedicated, hard working man who provided for his family for many years through owning his own wholesale fruit and vegetable business. He had many customers and friends along the South Shore, from Halifax to Shelburne. Spencer’s one of a kind sense of humour and charming personality warmed the hearts of all that had the privilege to know him. A heart of gold, he would have done anything for his family and his presence will be deeply missed.
Born in Bridgewater, N.S., he was the son of the late Irving and Carrie (Crouse) Beck. He is survived by his wife of 58 years June (Zwicker) Beck; daughter, Kathy (Andrew Zwicker); son, Chris (Cindy); grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley (Josh Goode), Jordan (Laura Cook), Nathaniel (Cassie Clarke), and Madison who will all cherish their memories of “Bamps”. He will be fondly remembered by many extended family members. Aside from his parents, Spencer was predeceased by his brother, Douglas Beck.
Due to Coronavirus restrictions, cremation has taken place, and internment will be at a date to be determined. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Christ Grace Lutheran Church in Camperdown. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. On-line condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
