It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Siegfried (Fred) Skrabs on June 24, 2020 aged 86.
He was a wonderful husband of 24 years to Heidi and to Ursula who passed away in 1991.
A loving father to Marion (Dan Legault) and Andrea (Wayne Kargus). Dear Opa to Nicole & Eric, Jake & Ben.
Always adventurous he came to Canada from Germany in 1958 with $60 in his pocket.
In Canada he became a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, built two beautiful homes and provided his family a good life.
He was a man of many talents with oil painting, rock hounding, jewellery making and looking after his cherished plants.
His love of travel brought him to many different countries and he enjoyed several years of winter Florida getaways with Heidi.
We will forever miss him and his cheerful spirit.
Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society can be made in his memory.
