Sidney Cooper
Peacefully at the Palace Long Term Care, Alexandria on Friday, February 14, 2020. Sidney Cooper WWII Veteran of Alexandria; age 95 years. Beloved husband of the late Johanna Cooper (nee van Groningen). Loving father of Jean Cooper of Alberta, Stella Arseneault (late Alain) of Apple Hill, Sidney Cooper Jr. (Joanne) of Glen Robertson, and Glenn Cooper (Louise) of Alexandria. Survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Isaac and Johnny, sisters Mary Doonan, Jessie Hess, Agnes Elash, and Georgina Smith, and by his parents Andrew and Aimie Cooper (nee David). Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm and on Thursday from 9:30 am -10:30 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the Alexandria United Church (Church on the Hill) on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11 am. Spring Interment in the Alexandria United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Alexandria United Church would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Sidney a tree will be planted in a Memory Woods.
