Shirley Melnick Nee Feinberg 2020

Shirley Melnick (Nee Feinberg)
It is with profound sadness that the family of Shirley Melnick announces her passing on Saturday April 25, 2020 at the age of eighty one. Devoted wife of the late Philip Melnick for 59 years. Loving, giving mother and mother-in-law of Eileen Melnick and Stuart McCarthy, Mitchell and Carolyn Melnick , Joy Melnick and Sanford Smith. Proud Bubby of Joshua, and Amanda McCarthy; Rachel, and David Smith. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Judy and Kenneth Helfield and sister-in-law of Moe and Ida Melnick. Daughter of the late Abie and the late Rose Feinberg. Shirley’s valiant and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease may have diminished her energy these last years, but her spirit and love for those who were part of her world was a constant. Her concern was always for the well-being of her family and dearest friends, even as her own health was challenged. A beauty through and through, and an indomitable spirit, Shirley always saw the glass half full. She was energized by a love of reading, learning, travel, golf and playing bridge, as well as championing causes she cared about. Her greatest happiness came from the special relationships she had with her cherished grandchildren. She loved being with them; followed their successes and triumphs. A bond they will cherish always. Shirley will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. Shirley’s children are very grateful to the compassionate caregivers at Westmount One and the special attention of Flo Dalfen. Contributions on her memory may be made to Parkinson Canada. 514-357-4291.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley Melnick Nee Feinberg 2020..
