Thomas Sheldon (Shelly) Brennan
Florence
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas Sheldon (Shelly) Brennan, age 62, on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in Fort McMurray.
Born in Sydney Mines on October 1, 1957, Shelly was the son of the late Gordon and Arthena (MacDonald) Brennan. Shelly was a proud member of the Labourers’ Union and spent many years working in Alberta.
In his younger years, Shelly worked for his fathers’ company, Brennan Concrete Products. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Florence, and was a past member of the Kinsmen Club.
He loved playing cards with his friends, and was known for his big heart and generosity. He could always be called on to help anyone in need. Shelly spoke his mind and was not afraid to share his opinions with anybody.
Shelly will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Eileen (Fry) Brennan, his three children; James, Allison and Kathleen (Tristan Riles), and his grand fur babies Phoenix, Clawdia and Purrcy. He is also survived by his brothers William (Tracy), and Darrell (Judy), his sister Elizabeth (Jed) Tremblett, sisters-in-law Bonita Mulley (Bronny), Margaret McGraw (Rob), Linda (Lawrence), Mary, Linda Fry, and brothers-in-law William (Bonnie), Eugene (Joan), Edward, Earl (Lori), and Brian (Sherri).
Besides his parents, Shelly was predeceased by his brother Kevin, mother and father-in-law Mary and Jim Fry (who treated him as one of their own), sisters-in-law Ethel Manual, Judy Fry and Faye Comeau, and brothers-in-law Arthur and Stanley Fry.
His family would like to thank Dr. Wawer, Dr. MacMullin and Bernice RN in Ambulatory Care, and the VON for their wonderful care and kind smiles.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Donations in Shelly’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shelly Brennan 2020..
