Obituary of Sheila Hamilton
Mary Sheila Hamilton (nee Sweeney), of Owen Sound, passed away with her family by her side, at the Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton, on Thursday morning, October 15th, 2020. Sheila was 87 years of age. Dearly loved wife of the late Roy Hamilton (2004). Loving mother of Linda Hutchinson, of Wasaga Beach, Major Brian Hamilton, of Hill Spring, Alberta, Sharon Martin (Dr. Alec), of Ripley. Proud grandmother of Richard (Kristina), Michael, Eric (Dr. Dealia), Daniel, Grant and great-grandmother of Trevor and Camron. Predeceased by her parents, Francis and Angela Sweeney; her daughter, (infant) Dianne Hamilton; her grandson, (infant) Ryan Martin; her son-in-law, Vern Hutchinson; her sister, Margaret Norton (George).
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 50 people will be allowed in the building at any given time and visitors are required to wear a mask and follow physical distancing rules. A Mass of Christian Burial for Sheila Hamilton will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 554 – 15th Street East, Owen Sound, on Monday, October 19th, 2020 with Father James McSharry officiating. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends are welcome to watch the service at 1:00 p.m. via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Huron Shores Hospice as an expression of sympathy.
