1956-2020
Sharon Lynn (Gartley) Beck passed away peacefully on Friday,
October 23, 2020 at the Upper River Valley Hospital after two year
battle with Cholangiocarcinoma.
Sharon loved her dog, golf, skiing, bowling, card playing and
anything else sociable. Her spare time was spent at Davidson Lake. She
was avid reader and was known for her constant and skilled
photography, her sharp memory and her wonderful laugh. She made the
best carrot cake and rhubarb muffins in town.
Sharon is survived by her husband Danny, her three daughters
Angela (Beck) Parks, Stacey (Beck) Sorbilli and Julie (Liston)
Kennedy, her mother Alma (Slipp) Gartley and her sister Gail (Gartley)
Knox. Son in Laws include Derek Kennedy and Bruno Sorbilli. Sharon had
7 grandchildren, Grace, Emily, Matthew, Joshua, Marianna, Max, Jozie
and 1 great grandchild, Lucas, and a special nephew
Jeffrey.
She was predeceased by her father Robert (Bob)
Gartley.
Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral
Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road
Jacksonville on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to
8 PM. By request there will be no service. Interment will take place
in the spring at the Oak Mountain Cemetery.
Donations can be made (in lieu of flowers) to the Upper River
Valley Cancer Society or to the Woodstock Extra Mural
Program.
Due to COVID 19 social distancing and mask are
required.
