Sharon E. (Moffitt) Hudson
1949-2020
Teacher, mother, grandmother. It is with profound sorrow that
we share the passing of Sharon Elizabeth Hudson on November 26, 2020.
Sharon was born August 2, 1949, in McAdam, New Brunswick daughter of
the late Myrtle (Flanagan) Moffitt and Paul Thomas Moffitt. She is
survived by her two beloved children Shiralee Hudson Hill (Matthew
Hill) and Sean Hudson (Stephanie White), five adored grandchildren
Cressida & Imogen and Connor, Ruari & Wesson, caring
sister Diane Campone, and doting brother Paul Moffitt.
Sharon loved children and began and ended her storied career
as a teacher at Fairvale Elementary School, retiring in 2007. She made
the spirited choice to continue her education mid-life and had a
wonderful year as a St. Thomas University student in
1998–1999. An avid gardener, she tended fastidiously large
vegetable and flower beds over the years. A basketball lover, she
played as a scrappy guard for the McAdam High School team and was an
enthusiastic fan of the Toronto Raptors. We will be forever grateful
for the loving and devoted care she received as a resident of the
Raylee Brooks Manor, Bloomfield for the past two years (where she
could often be found chatting with the staff and cat or insisting on
helping fold the laundry). We would also like to express our gratitude
to the health care team at the cardiac step down unit at the Saint
John Regional Hospital for the care and kindness Sharon received in
her final days.
A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will
happen at a future date when we can gather together once again. In
lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society of
New Brunswick or Romero House, Saint John, NB.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. Sharon will always hold a special place in my heart and while it is sad to have her leave us, she really fought a good fight these last years. She was an excellent teacher and an enjoyable teaching partner . I have many memories of this special lady. She will be missed. God bless you at this difficult time.
So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. I have so many great memories of Sharon at Fairvale Elementary School. She often made us laugh. The students loved Mrs. Hudson. Sharon was a kind and generous person. My sincere condolences to her family. I know she loved you all so much.
