Sharon Jane Bowman
(nee Downey – Glaesner)
of Moorefield and formerly of Kitchener passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Monday, December 14, 2020 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Roy Bowman and the late Helmuth Glaesner (1995). Cherished mother of Edward and Susan Glaesner, and Nicholas Glaesner. Grandmother of Evan and Sophie. Sister of Susan and Don Wallace. Aunt of Beth and Scott and their children. Remembered by Roy’s children James Bowman (Christa) and Sheri Bowman, and grandchildren Kyle and Alysa Bowman and Cody Bowman, great grandchildren Wyatt and Benson. Predeceased by her parents Ivy and Richard (Jack) Downey.
The family would like to thank Dr. Taylor, Kitchener, Dr. McGee of London Health Sciences and Dr. Kobeleva and team at the Grand River Cancer Centre for their care. A special thank you to Theresa Goldrick and Joan Burkitt from Closing the Gap for taking care of Sharon in her final days at home.
Sharon was a School Teacher in Chatham, worked at State Farm Insurance and retired as the Records Division Manager for the Waterloo Regional Polices Services after 22 years.
To honour Sharon’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service of Remembrance will take place at a later date and will be announced at that time.
