Nigadoo, NB – It is with great sadness and grief that we the family announce the death of Sgt. Dale Francis Gallant, of Nigadoo, which occurred Thursday December 24, 2020 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the age of 58 years.
Born and raised in Prince Edward Island, Dale was the oldest son of Harold and Marjorie Gallant of Charlottetown, PEI.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his one and only love, Susan (McDonald) Gallant and his life’s best accomplishment, his daughter, Cassandra and son Mitchell.
He will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Aldea McDonald and by his siblings: Julie (Mark Linzel), Shawn (Jody) and Amanda (Adam Beech).
He loved his McDonald family; Ivan (Nadine), Michael and all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles from both families.
He was pre-deceased by his younger brother, Allan, his father-in-law, Ralph and his brother-in-law, Barry.
Dale served loyally as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for thirty-one years. He held many positions and profiles through several detachments in Ontario, and now in his last posting, Fredericton. His colleagues describe him as a guy who would do anything, for anyone, at any time. Dale was that type of man in life, he loved life, food, family and did everything with passion and all the love in his heart.
There will be no visitations at the Funeral Home. A celebration of Dale’s life with the family and the RCMP will be held from Église St-Polycarpe in Petit-Rocher, on Thursday, December 31st, 2020 by invitation only. My sincere condolences to his family for their loss. I had the opportunity and pleasure to work with Dale in Ottawa in 2019 – he was a terrific member and a good person. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Thank you for your condolences. It is always wonderful to still be hearing such nice and kind words about my father.
