Sergio Marrone
With overwhelming sadness, the family of Sergio Marrone announce his sudden and untimely passing on December 31st 2019 at the age of 58. Sergio was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, zio and friend. He is loved and will be missed beyond words by his wife and best friend Angela and beloved children Alessandra and Massimo. Cherished son of Stella (nee Buttarella) Marrone and the late Antonio Marrone (predeceased). Loving brother to his sisters Maria Marrone (Gerry Ceccarelli) and Linda (Steve) Bortolotto and nephew Dante. Dear nephew of Gino (Concetta) Buttarella, Rosina Buttarella (Domenico Soranno), predeceased by Ida (Donato) Marrone, Giovanni (Maria) Marrone, Teresa Marrone (Giuseppe Martelli), Giuseppina Buttarella (Leonardo Pagano) and Salvatore Buttarella.
Also mourning his loss are his parents’ in-law Domenico and Paola Lacopo, brother in-law Giuseppe (Diane) Lacopo, sister in-law Teresa (Jack) Labelle and nieces and nephews Cristian, Sophia, Isabella and Luke.
Sergio will be missed by many extended family members in Canada and Italy, colleagues and friends.
After an earlier career at the Sudbury Star, he pursued a sales career at Doyle Dodge and his camaraderie made him a natural in this field.
Sergio was endlessly devoted, loving, caring and always put family first. He was an amazing husband and father who adored and would do anything for his children. He was truly an incredible man gone too soon who will be cherished, loved and remembered always. One of his greatest loves was gathering with family and friends and making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. He especially enjoyed his annual get together with his family and “the cousins” at the cottage. His positive example will be followed by those left behind to keep his spirit and memory alive.
He enjoyed connecting with people, was inviting and generous to everyone he met. He was very proud of his Italian culture including wine making that he learned from his father and preparing traditional meals, especially his wood fired pizza! We will miss his jovial and humorous nature. We are sure that Sergio is now enjoying the ultimate heavenly feast with his father Antonio and all his relatives and friends who have gone before him.
