Scott’s Obituary
Bateman, Scott Renard – 55, Newellton, passed away at home on October 29, 2020. Born December 25, 1964, he was the son of the late Carol (Smith) and Ted Bateman. Predeceased by sisters, Natalie Bateman and Cindy DeMings; father in law, Paul Penney. Scott was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He spent the majority of his life on the water, as an avid fisherman. What he loved the most was coaching and mentoring the kids in the community. He began his love for coaching when his 2 daughters started playing squirt baseball in Clark’s Harbour. This led into coaching hockey at several levels over the next 15+ years. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; 2 daughters, Chanel (Aaron) and Danielle (Sam); son, Tanner; grandchildren, Ryder and Everly; sisters, Marsha, Carole Rose, Tammy and Bertha (Vernal), brother in law, Derrick (Cheryl), Darren,(Francine), mother in law, Sharon (Allison); as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, at the Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena, Barrington. Memorial donations may be made to Kids Fair Play or any charity of your choice. Due to Covid-19 restriction, seating may be limited and social distancing guidelines must be followed (Immediate family will be given priority for seating). The service will be live feed the day of the service on the Huskilson’s Funeral Homes Facebook site.
