Saul Liberty Thursday December 10 2020

LIBERTY, Saul (Shaul Haviv) 10-10-1932 to 10- 12-2020 Born on the eve of Yom Kippur and passed away on the first night of Hanukkah, Saul was truly a unique man. A leader and never a follower. A man whose physical strength was matched by the strength of his convictions. A hard working provider to his family, generous with his time and money. He adored his kids Sara and David and absolutely idolized his grandkids Aaron and Samantha. He cared for and dearly loved his wife of sixty years Fani, (Tziporah). No amount of hardship could ever diminish the love and good times they shared. Saul is also survived by his younger brother Itshak, (Kiko), who saw Saul as his mentor and best friend and by his son-in-law, David, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. As a young man, Saul joined the IDF by claiming that he was older than his actual sixteen years. From there he joined the police force first in Tel Aviv and then in his beloved Eilat. After his arrival in Canada, Saul decided to head to school and complete his education so that he can pursue his passion for medicine. He became a male nurse and was loved by all the staff and patients he met. Saul made it his first, and top, priority to buy his parents a home long before his dream of owning one himself ever came true. Saul was a fierce defender of his beloved nation of Israel. A love he instilled in his kids and grandkids. If a man is to be measured by the goodwill of his actions and deeds then Saul was a towering ten feet tall. Loved by his family and respected by all. He truly was one of a kind; and as our wounded hearts slowly heal, I am consoled by the fact that I got to call this man, this hero, Aba. Aba I love you and please forgive me for not being strong enough to say goodbye just yet, but I was never as strong as you were. May your memory be a blessing.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Saul Liberty Thursday December 10 2020..
