Sandra Gail McIntyre
1960-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Sandra Gail (Horton)
McIntyre of McAdam, NB announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by
her loving family, on September 22, 2020 at Hospice Fredericton.
Sandra’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife,
mother, grandmother and sister. Sandra took great pleasure in
watching birds at her feeders, especially the hummingbirds. She
enjoyed reading, cooking for her family and, when she was able, trips
to the Caribbean with her father and sisters.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 36 years, Norman McIntyre, and
her two daughters, Trisha (Kyle) Guptill of Grand Manan and Michelle
McIntyre (Corey Langille) of McAdam, NB as well as five grandchildren,
Faith, Hayden and Parker Guptill and Logan and Keirsten Langille. She
is also survived by her sisters, Sue (Paul) Shonaman of Saint John, NB
and Kelly (Jay) McCluskey of Baxters Corner, NB; her brother-in-law,
Steve McIntyre and sisters-in-law Janette McIntyre and Holly MacKinnon
as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents, Robert Horton and Shirley
(Armstrong) Horton, a brother David Horton as well as her in-laws Sam
(Buddy) and Alma McIntyre and brother-in-law Robert McIntyre.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for
Sandra over the last few weeks. Special thanks to Shari Watson for
her friendship and compassion as well as Ella McGillicuddy and Cathy
Beers for their love, support and caregiving over the last year.
As per Sandra’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral
service. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Remembrances in Sandra’s name can be made to a charity of the
donor’s choice.
