Sandra’s Obituary
QUINLAN, Sandra Aileen, 73 of Shelburne. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra at Roseway Hospital on June 7, 2020 after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer with her family by her side. Born and raised in East Green Harbour, Shelburne County, she was a daughter of Erland Cotter and the late Romayne (Swim) Cotter. Sandra adored and took great pride in her family and their achievements. She loved to bake for them and gift them with her handiwork. She made each child and grandchild a knitted throw during her illness for them to cherish. Sandra was kind, hard-working and took pride in keeping an immaculate home for her family. She was known and loved by many whom she had met in her many years of working retail. Sandra is survived by her loving husband Richard (Dick) of 56 years, her children Debbie (Tim) Holmes, Sandy Point; Bruce (Wendy) Quinlan, Upper Northfield, grandchildren Christopher (Chaila and Saylor) Holmes, C.S.I.; Megan Quinlan, Shelburne, and Abby Quinlan, Upper Northfield. From a large family she also leaves behind sisters Rose Young, Shelburne; Joan (Jimmy) Holland, East Green Harbour; Nancy (David) Cotter, Lockeport; Cathy (Mitch) Pyne, Yarmouth; Laurie (Gary) Enslow, West Green Harbour; Lisa (Rob) Potter, Dartmouth and brothers Al (Margaret) Cotter, Ralph (Ellen) Cotter, both of East Green Harbour; and Bobby (Alma) Cotter, Brighton along with many nieces and nephews. Sandra was predeceased by her mother Romayne, sister-in-law Shirley Nogler, brothers-in-law Walter Nogler and Alvin Young. The family would like to sincerely thank Doctors O’Sullivan, Lamond, McFarlane, and Keeler, as well as a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful, compassionate staff at the Y.R.H. Chemo Unit and the Roseway Hospital E.D. and North Wing units. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. No visitation by request. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Roseway Hospital Charitable Foundation.
